For anyone who was confused, befuddled, or baffled about Revolutions or did not understand the ending and why things went the way they did, I suggest you read this article.  If you've not seen Revolutions, beware, it's spoiler city.

http://wylfing.net/essays/matrix_revolutions.html

I have a few things I'd like to add, and I'll spoiler-tag them.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The article is long, but do read up.  It brings a depth to the Matrix storyline that you otherwise might not be able to appreciate.[/color]

So... are you saying the last 2 movies are worth seeing?

I would say they are.  If you have not seen them then I recommend doing so.

Also, just to clarify in case anyone decides to stand on a soap box... This thread is not here to debate whether the movies were "good" or "bad".  Frankly I'm tired of all the "Everything after 1 sucked!" rantings.  Everyone has their own opinions on whether or not they liked the movies, which can be discussed elsewhere if people truly wish.  Please do not do so here.  I started this thread for anyone who was confused about what happened and to shed broader insight into some of the subtleties within the trilogy.  Since this IS a trilogy, and was intended to be from the beginning according to the Wachowski brothers, it must be treated as such in regards to understanding it.

Feel free to discuss any insights or opinions in relation to the article, but anything off-topic from that discussion will be removed.

Edit:  This includes cynical comments, which make replies subject to partial deletion.

However, I thought that much of the symbolism, especially in Revolutions, was quite obvious to anyone with a working knowledge of such things (which is admittedly quite limited in the American movie-goer crowd, but still). These realizations will only go to further solidify sci-fi authors' plans to build giant cults, much like George Lucas has.

Good lord that took forget to get through... BUT... I think I understand everything now a lot better than I did before. That was well worth it for me.

...

Interesting, I didn't know there was THAT much mythology crammed into the Matrix series, but I DID wind up at the same conclusion in the end. I think I have some reading to do.

Attention Deficit Disorder.
I have it and am border line ADHD. It's one of the reasons I can't play any game for more than an hour at a time. I get bored easy.

Might I suggest some martial arts training?  It disciplines the mind and teaches one how to focus.
